Thinking Arithmatic.

From a Ben Arment blog post:

"Once there were two preachers. George Whitefield amazed crowds with his preaching ability, led tons of people to Christ, and died with a great reputation. John Wesley organized his converts into discipleship groups and equipped ordinary farmers to become preachers who carried on the mission long past his death."

Read it yesterday. It's still messing with me. Challenging me.

Was one man right? Was one man wrong? Is it both/and?

Is it Calling? Methodology?

Resources. Time. Energy. Focus.

Where? Where are they best invested for the greatest impact?

Addition. Multiplication.

Thanks for the post, Ben.

That is a very good and intriguing thought, One area of verse I went to while I was thinking about it was 1 Cor 12, as I remembered God has appointed people to different task’s, and I believe Each is just as important as the other as I see it. I had to sum up my thoughts with the final two verses of this chapter and I substituted one word that helps me think about it personally

29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles? 30 Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? 31 But earnestly desire the (MY) best gifts. And yet I show you a more excellent way.

Thanks so much for sharing and challenging us, it makes me dig.
